Our Phoenix Materials Recovery Facility

Balcones Recycling is now the operator of the North Gateway Transfer Station, a municipality-owned Material Recovery Facility that opened in 2007. Balcones was awarded the City of Phoenix recycling processing and marketing services contract in 2022 and commenced operations in 2023. The facility processes residential single stream material, with a processing capacity of 25-30 tons per hour. This is the first of two locations Balcones will operate in Phoenix. The City of Phoenix recently recognized Balcones as a Green Business Leader by the City of Phoenix.

We have compiled resources, from how-tos to useful links, to help navigate all the information about recycling right.
